LOCATION
Chardstock is a tranquil rural village within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Devon/Dorset/Somerset borders about 10 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with easy access to Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth. Chard and Axminster are both about 5 miles distant & offer a range of shops, supermarkets, banks and other facilities.
The area offers many attractions such as Cricket St.Thomas, Forde Abbey, the narrow gauge Seaton Tramway from which to explore the Axe estuary, Honiton with its antique shops and markets - or just relax in this charming village.
A short walk away is The George Inn offering excellent meals, and a well-stocked Post Office/Stores for everyday provisions. Cream Teas and light daytime meals are available 2 miles away at Fordwater. LITTLE TYTHCOTE is approached over a gravelled Courtyard with sitting area and parking for 2 Cars. It is Grade II listed - being adjacent to Tythcote House, one of the most ancient properties in Chardstock - and is reputed to have originally been an old cider house. In recent years the property has been renovated to a high standard to offer every modern convenience whilst retaining exposed beams and period features, and now offers the following charming centrally heated accommodation:
